Who are we?
Hey there!
Want to know more about the physiotherapist and staff you’ll be seeing? Here’s all of the information you need!
Penny Rohleder (Bachelor of Physiotherapy)
Picture this: a mum of three, juggling not just kids but also POTS, EDS, and type 2 diabetes, idiopathic intracranial hypertension and, a pacemaker! Oh yeah, life keeps me on my toes! But hey, who said being a mum and having chronic conditions would hold me back?
Not this determined lady, that's for sure! (cont. after image…)
Sometimes having experienced chronic illness, gives you an understanding that cannot be taught. Fatigue? I have that in excess. Empathy and compassion - I have a healthy dose of that too.
So, why did I become a physiotherapist, you ask?
Well, it all began when I realised that helping people help themselves, was my true calling. I wanted to be the kind of therapist who empowers others to take charge of their health and wellness. And hey, what's more rewarding than seeing folks bounce back from injuries and conquer their physical challenges?
Now, you might be wondering, what the heck do physiotherapists even do? Well, my friend, we're like the Sherlock Holmes of the body. We use our detective skills to find out what's causing those aches and pains. Then, armed with years of training, and an endless supply of terrible humour (I told you I was funny!), we work our magic to improve mobility, reduce pain, and restore balance in the body.
But hold on, there's more! We're not just your run-of-the-mill healers; we're also expert educators. We show you how to stretch, strengthen, and conquer exercises like a boss. We're not only focused on fixing you up when things go awry; we're all about the prevention game too. Yup, we're the guardians of injury prevention, whispering sweet nothings into your ears like "Don't forget to warm up!" and "Mind your posture!" So, there you have it – a glimpse into the life of a goofy, mum-of-three, chronically-awesome physiotherapist. If you ever find yourself in need of physiotherapy, then let's embark on this wellness journey together and conquer whatever life throws our way!
